8064 Keith Ogilvie RMC 69 Engineering & Management RCAF and beyond   Started post-RMC life as a Communications Electronics Engineer, immediately stationed at CFS Lowther, a Pinetree Line radar base in the middle of nowhere, between Kapuskasing and Hearst.     Changed to Aeronautical Engineering to avoid a career being eaten by black flies.   Posted to Uplands (Ottawa) for 3 years, where I kept my RCAF surplus Chipmunk #076 in #11 Hangar (co-owned with Mike Potter for a while).   1974, got a posting to Cold Lake as Range Test Officer.   After long reflection, left the RCAF to work with Dept. of Communications on the pioneering Communications Technology Satellite.   Great fun functional and sound testing the novel solar array.     Moved to a full time consulting career, starting with MOT and morphing into mostly governance and international development.   Took three or four years around the late 70’s to blow gl...

8046 J.E. (John) Kimber   Born in Lethbridge Alberta as the only child of Louise, a nurse, and Jack, an accountant who was overseas from 1941 to 1946 (Artillery).  I did well in school – never learned to study as I never had to. (more about that later). Enrolled in the Summer Student Employment program as a Craftsman in 32 nd Technical Sqn RCEME and trained in Wainwright, Sarcee and Suffield.  In 1965 I saw “On Their Merit” and was hooked.  Next stop RMC.   At the train station in Lethbridge, I met up with Terry Melnyk – a school friend and neighbour.  We boarded the train to Kingston, spotting many others (Heath & Poffenroth)  studying “On Becoming an Educated Person”.  In Kingston we descended from the train and were set upon by Yvon Soucy dressed in scarlets with a French accent unfamiliar to us.   A blur of activity introduced us to running the square and meeting our profs and their nicknames.  Physic...
