  8114 Tony Evers TONY EVERS    February 7, 1947 - June 18, 2020 Renowned for his sense of humour, intelligence, kindness and glorious head of hair, Tony died peacefully at home on June 18, 2020 after a brief battle with cancer. Tony was predeceased by his father (Bill Evers), mother (Jackie Ames), youngest brother (Jimmy) and little sister (Gerrie Burnett). He leaves behind his beloved wife of 36 years, Denise, daughters Tanya (Greg), Courtney and Bria (Joe) and grandson, Rhys. Survived by his siblings Rose (Bill), Kathy (Bob), Josephine (John), Mike (Kathy) and Joseph (Carolyn) and a multitude of toolboxes. Tony was a founding partner in 3D Storage Systems and took great pride in the business' success before retiring at age 55.   8058 Terry Melnyk 1969 Review Somewhat to my surprise, I completed 37 years in the CF as an artillery officer.  Regimental duty with 3 RCHA in Shilo and Winnipeg and 5 RALC in Valcartier. A tour in Cyprus with 5 RALC and a posting as Liaison Officer with the a US Army research institution in New Jersey pretty much sum up my foreign duties.  My career as an artillery officer crested when an appointment as Battery Commander (HQ Battery with 5 RALC) was cancelled when I slipped a disk in my back for the second time and was put on extended medical category.  That, of course, eventually healed but left me with permanent nerve damage in one leg, happily with no particular mobility issues or pain.  I was by then in competition with younger, keener (and better probably) officers for the key postings and so I settled into the life as a staff officer.   7956 Paul Corriveau College of Entry: CMR   Review  1970 Le Défilé  1968 J’appartiens au groupe d’élèves-officiers entrée au CMR en septembre1964 lesquels ont complété le programme d’étude en six ans plutôt que cinq. Toutefois, je maintiens contact jusqu’à ce jour avec plusieurs des compagnons de ma première heure au collège. Ma carrière militaire comme fantassin au sein du Royal 22 e Régiment fut surprenante et nourrissante aux plans personnel et professionnel. Le jour de ma graduation, je me proposais de quitter les Forces après mes trois années obligatoires de services. Une succession de défis croissants changea la donne et m’offrit une carrière militaire des plus intéressante complété en 1989 au grade de lieutenant-colonel.   7856 John Bishop College of Entry: CMR de Saint-Jean Review  1969 Le Défilé  1967 1969: Graduated from RMC via CMR with a BA in Commerce. 1969 – 1970: Plot training at CFB Borden and CFB Gimli 1970 – 1971: DC-3 Conversion training at CFB Winnipeg 1971 – 1974: Assigned to flying DC-3s at Transport Flight. VU 32 Squadron, CFB Shearwater 1974: Shortly after being transferred to CFB Moose Jaw to instruct on the Tudor, I left the military with ten years of service to accept a pilot position with Air Canada. 1974 – 2004: In the 30 years with Air Canada I flew numerous aircraft types before retiring in 2004 as a B767 Captain. 2004 – Present:  I retired to Shediac, NB and spend my time with family and friends and supporting the Moncton Wildcats of the QMJHL

  7844 Hugues Lacombe College of Entry: CMR Review  1970      Le Défilé  1965 Je suis né à Sherbrooke en 1946 mais j’ai été élevé à Montréal.   Mon père était militaire de carrière.   J’ai fait mes études primaires en français et mes études secondaires en anglais, ce qui explique que lorsque j’ai débuté au CMR, j’étais un élève-officier anglophone.   Quand j’ai échoué ma première année, j’ai decidé de poursuivre mes études en français.   J’ai donc terminé mes études au RMC en 1970, et non en 1969, avec un B.A. en littérature française. En 1971 Richard Michon m’a invité à travailler comme rédacteur à la revue Sentinelle, aux Affaires publiques au Quartier général.   J’y suis resté jusqu’en 1974.   Entre temps j’ai complété ma maîtrise en Littérature française à l’Université d’Ottawa en 1973.   7965 Al Hurd 1969  Review                 Colonel Edmund Heard was one of seven male siblings raised in New Hampshire in the latter half of the 1700’s. His six brothers fought on the American side in the 1776-84 Revolution but Edmund sat it out. As a consequence of this he was hounded out of the US in the Post-Loyalist wave of 1790. He and a colleague walked 120 miles through the bush and settled in Quebec, not far from the current location of Sherbrooke. We don’t know what Edmund did to acquire the title of Colonel prior to the revolution. In any case, he was the last military man in the Canadian Hurd family (the spelling was revised in the 1850’s) except for an uncle of mine who served as a navigator on Lancasters in WWII.   7836 Fred O’Donnell (Obituary) Died: 02 September 2016 À Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, le 2 septembre 2016, à l'âge de 69 ans, est décédé monsieur Fred O'Donnell, époux de madame Réjane Marcoux Après son départ de Kingston Fred a travaillé plusieurs années en vente chez Tektronix Canada à Montréal et par la suite comme directeur des ventes pour le Québec et l'est du Canada.   En 1995 il est allé cherché ses certifications avec Microsoft afin d'être  consultant en informatique ce qu'il a réussi avec Excellence. Il était travailleur autonome Cie Réseautique 2000.INC   Nous avons 2 enfants Patrick et Julie et 2 petites filles Alycia et Kimberly.(enfants de Patrick) Fred a pris sa retraite en Juillet 2016 et est décédé le 2 Septembre 2016.   Merci d'avoir fait les recherches afin d'ajouter Fred au livre souvenir.   Réjane Marcoux O'Donnell Alycia and Kimberly Julie and Patrick Rejane et Fred
