  8027 Ron Dickenson 1969 Review         Military After grad I was posted to 1 RCR London, where my first position was Infantry platoon commander. We first spent the summer on the Petawawa plains training Militia units (my trainees won the top regiment award). In 1970 we spent seven months under UNFICYP on peacekeeping duties. Days after repatriation to Canada we were called out to Quebec for the FLQ crisis (the wives were not happy.)   In Jan 1973 in Edmonton I took my second parachutist course where I seriously injured my lower back and right hip during the ground phase of training. Being young, physically fit, determined and heeding Chief Pitt’s advice “Shit or Bust, gentlemen,” I completed the course, with my “Wings” and a total of eleven certified jumps.   In March my pain became so unmanageable, I was taken to London veterans’ hospital, where they found I had ruptured two discs in my lower back on the course.   8185   William (Bill) St Jean    1969  Review                 Military Life Joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1965 under the Regular Officer Training Plan and after two years at Royal Roads later graduated from Royal Military College in Kingston, in 19 69 with a Bachelor of Applied Science degree. Married right after Grad to Christine MacKay from Belleville and later while in Winnipeg we were blessed with two sons Scott (1974) and Brad (1975). Throughout the 1970s, 1980s, and early 1990s I held a wide variety of air force operational and staff appointments in the aerospace engineering and maintenance environment. These tours of duty included management responsibilities for flight line servicing, base level maintenance inspection and repair, weapon system management and airworthiness of a variety of military aircraft including transports, fighters and helicopters.   8069 WJ (Warwick/Jack) Reid Jack, Bob Morton, Dennis Dart May 1968 – Left RMC after third year leaving behind a disappointed Major and two crushed members of the ‘Gold Line’ (Mort and Pole) “we could have been contenders”.  1968 – Returned to parent’s house in Penticton BC and to my high school sweetheart – Lyn Riley Fall 1968 – Began third year of Mechanical Engineering at University of British Columbia and become a member of the UBC Thunderbirds Junior Varsity team hockey.   Once again Fluid Mechanics and Hockey does me in! Summer 69 - I returned to Penticton and began working as a surveyor at Brenda Mines (note, I was the only sup writer in Surveying in 2nd Year) laying out concrete pipe for the tailings pond at the mine. Fall 69 - I wisely remuster to Physical Education.
