Carr, Major (Retired) Douglas Leeming
At the Belleville General Hospital on Monday, January 2, 1995,
Douglas Leeming Carr of RR 7, Belleville, Ontario: Major Douglas Carr was born
in Hamilton, educated in Ancaster and graduated from Royal Military College in
Kingston. He was with Search and Rescue in Northern Canada and served in
Pakistan for two years with the United Nations. He was in various Squadrons in
Edmonton and Trenton flying Hercules and Boeing 707 Aircraft with the Air
Transport Group and ended up as Chief Check Pilot on the 707's and Challengers,
He retired from the Canadian Forces after 22 years with the rank of Major. Dear
son of Ronald and Dorothy (Redshaw) Carr of RR 7, Belleville and formally of
Ancaster, Ontario, beloved husband of Dianne Callahan, dear father of Donna
Carr of Kingston, Wayne and Shane Carr, both at home, dear brother of David
Carr and his wife Janet of Scarborough, and Ronald Carr and his wife Mamy of
Oakville, survived by several nieces and nephews. Resting at the John R. Bush
Funeral Home, 80 Highland Avenue, Belleville. At the request of the family
there will be no visitation. Funeral Service to be held in the Chapel on
Thursday, January 5, 1995 at 1:00 p.m.. Cremation to follow. Major the Rev.
Frank Walker of R.M.C. Kingston officiating. Donations to the Canadian Cancer
Society would be appreciated.
