After graduation I married Donna and we started our nomadic life at CFS Beausejour in Manitoba. Over the next 26 years we were posted to Valcartier, NDHQ (four times), Paoli Pennsylvania where our youngest son was born, Moisie QC, Brunssum The Netherlands and Brussels Belgium.

My most captivating job was doing applied research at the Defense Research Establishment Valcartier but our best posting was at Allied Forces Central Europe (AFCENT) in Brunssum where we fell in love with the Dutch people.

I retired in July 1995 as part of the Forces reduction program. Retirement allowed us the rewarding opportunity to take an active role in the

lives of our two grandsons. It also gave us time to travel and enjoy our hobbies.

Donna reads a lot and has mastered textile crafts such as sewing, knitting, cross-stitching and quilting. She also enjoys designing our beautiful garden. I

enjoy woodworking, photography, hiking and biking although I don't go quite as fast as I used to.

So far life as been good for us and we are looking forward to reconnecting with old friends
