1969 Review |
Following our graduation in 1969 I spent three years with the Military Engineers, first as Requirements Officer at CFB Chiliwack and then ending my time in the CAF as the BCEO at CFB Penhold.
The next
stage was back to Kingston for an MBA at Queen’s, and then home to the West
Coast and a job with BC Hydro. My work with Hydro over a 23-year period
included assignments in Engineering and Construction, Human Resources,
Marketing, Electrical Operations and for the last three years as Senior Vice
President, Power Supply. In addition to Vancouver we were fortunate to have the
opportunity to visit, and for short periods to live in other parts of BC.
My other
employment was President and CEO at BCTransit for a four-year period in the
mid/late ‘90’s. In April of 2001 both Wendy and I retired to a life focused on
volunteer work, hobbies, travel and family, and with very limited success,
learning to play golf. Some highlights include:
2001 – 2022 Ski
instructor at Cypress Mountain
2007 – 2013 Work
with Habitat for Humanity Global Village, including builds in Hungary,
Portugal, New Zealand and Viet Nam
2001 –
present Active in a range of musical groups from
community concert bands to an R&B gig band
2001 –
present Travel through many parts of Canada and the
US, Britain, Europe, Russia and the Pacific rim
2010 –
present Grandkids…currently our
primary focus, we are lucky to be actively involved in the lives of our four
grandkids (aged 11 – 14)
