70’s

·         Joined HMCS Fraser. Highlights include: 1. sailing up the Saint Lawrence to Thunder Bay and back, stopping at 8 or 9 ports to “show the flag”; and 2. breaking down off the UK coast and spending 6 weeks in Plymouth.

·         Received an MBA from Queens

·         Started a 35 year career at the Bank of Canada. Most positions involved systems analysis and problem solving.

·         Ran 5 marathons, and continued to run regularly for many years.

 

80’s

·         Condo mortgage renewed at 19.5% (builder had offered 22.75%)

·         1st marriage - 2 children (Kristen and James)

·         Lots of diaper changes

 

90’s

·         2nd and forever marriage (Jan); gained 2 step children (Sean and Jodie), and a terrier (Teddy)

·         Drive/bike/camp summer holidays (US east coast, Prince George, Vancouver, Gaspe, PEI, Cape Breton and Bar Harbour)

·         Hiked up Mount Washington (twice), and Mount Marcie in Adirondacks

 

00’s

·         4 grandchildren born (Emily, Abigail, Maxwell, Marlayah).

·         Lots of time with grandkids.

·         Return trip to Brisbane (with stops in London, Malaysia and Singapore).

·         Heart attack while out running one cold morning; double bypass

·         Retired from Bank of Canada

·         Started playing the guitar

·         Welcomed 3 Border Terriers into our home (Tobey, Paisley and Moffat)

 

10’s

·         Bought a log cottage on a lake an hour north of Parliament Hill.

·         Stopped running due to bad knee, now work out on an elliptical.

·         We took lots of trips this decade including trips to: Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Bermuda, Amsterdam, Paris, Rome, New Zealand, Ireland, Belize, Venice, Spain, Iceland, Scotland and Greece

 

20’s

·         5th grandchild born (Morgan) in UK

·         On a trip to Hawaii when Covid hit

·         One 15 year old Border Terrier (Moffat) is still with us

·         Cottage time in nice weather and when we, or Moffat, do not have appointments.
