1969 Review |
After returning from Germany in 1965 where I spent my teenage
years at 4 Wing Baden, I made one of the better decisions in my life to go to
Royal Roads and then on to RMC.
After graduating in 1969 in Electrical Engineering, I moved over
to Queen’s University where I completed my Master of Science again in
Electrical Engineering.
I married Tammy in June of 1969.
We have two children, Devlan and Tara Lee.
My first posting was to NDHQ in 1971. This was followed by Kingston, Holberg, Lahr
and back to Ottawa where I retired in 1982 as a Lieutenant Colonel.
I then spent two years at the Communications Research Center in
the position of Ground Segment Manager for the MSAT Program. This established my interest in the
development of communication terminals for satellite systems.
In 1984, I moved my family back to BC where I worked at MPR (a
research subsidiary
of BC Tel) where I held a number of positions ending in 1996 as
Director of the Satcom Division.
In 1996, I became the President of a start-up company which
acquired the MPR Satcom Division. The company,
IMT specialized in wireless broadband
access radio transceivers at Ka Band.
After two years, IMT was acquired by Norsat International where I worked
as VP, Engineering until retiring for good in 2000.
Our main interest since then has been cruising the waters near
Vancouver. We just sold our last boat
and retired from the yacht club where we were members for 20 years.
We are living in North Vancouver.
